High Performance Tennis

High Performance Tennis (HPT) is a CWTC affiliate tennis academy that operates from Pennsylvania, USA. The academy was founded on the shared vision of Head Coach Taj Colantoni, who formerly operated as the Head Coach at CWTC's club in Kilarney, and Charles Wheeler. Through this relationship CWTC players have access to a North American base from which they can train and compete in the North American tournament circuit.

The academy is based on similar principles to The Home School program that is currently in place at CWTC and that has produced several national champions and world class junior tennis players. HPT looks to develop nationally ranked players between the ages of 8-16 and offers a very exclusive program committing players to a highly focussed and structured weekly regiment. The academy is fully geared to providing a comprehensive professional tennis training program that includes tennis coaching, physical training (conducted by a personal trainer), video analysis as well as covering the psychological aspects of tennis.

Clay Court Tennis

Clay Court Tennis is very much part of CWTC!

In September 2008, CWTC completed building the first clay tennis court in South Africa for many years. The clay court was built to international Davis Cup specifications at CWTC's premier venue in Gauteng, the German Country Club. The clay court includes a full maintenance plan, flood lights and electronic access control. CWTC will shortly complete building a second clay tennis court at it's other premier venue in Gauteng, the Kilarney Country Club.

The clay courts have been registered as Clay Court Tennis and all CWTC coaches and players will have access to the courts via an online booking system and on a pay per use basis. CWTC will also enter into Time Usage Agreements with parents and players who can purchase 150 hours of court time at substantially reduced rates.

Global Team Tennis

Global Team Tennis (GTT) is an international tennis academy that operates from Mallorca, Spain under the leadership of Head Coach Jofre Porta, in partnership with his most well known player former world no. 1 and Roland Garros champion, Carlos Moya.

Jofre also coached Rafael Nadal for several years as a junior and he has been awarded several accolades as a coach including Coach of The Year by the ATP Tour.

Charles Wheeler Tennis Coaching (CWTC) has a direct relationship with GTT and through this relationship CWTC players have access to a European base from which they can train and compete in European clay court tournaments.

CWTC also facilitates regular tours to GTT where players and coaches are exposed to cutting edge clay court training methods.

National Scouting Report
National Scouting Report (NSR) is the largest scouting organisation in the world when it comes to placing sportsmen and sportswomen into American varsities on sporting scholarships.
Charles Wheeler is a director of NSR and is the sole Gauteng representative for NSR in South Africa. Charles has placed numerous sportsmen and sportswomen into the American varsity system on full sporting scholarships. Kevin Anderson, currently ranked 98 in the world on the ATP Tour, is an example of an ex-CWTC player that made the decision to move to America where he spent 3 years studying and furthering his tennis career at the university of Illinois.
